Ad Guidelines

At ContextCue, we want to help businesses of all sizes to promote themselves on our network and reach as many customers as possible. However, to create a safe and positive experience for users, we require our ads to comply with certain guidelines listed below. These guidelines are driven by industry norms and regulations, as well as our values as a company.

When we find content that violates these guidelines, the ad will be rejected. If your ad is rejected, we'll always provide a detailed explanation as to why. If you need further explanation or guidance, reach out to support@contextcue.com. In cases of repeated violations, we may stop you from advertising with ContextCue.

  • Prohibited content

    • Counterfeit goods–you can't sell or promote counterfeit goods. Counterfeit goods contain a trademark or logo that is identical to or substantially indistinguishable from the trademark of another. They mimic the brand features of the product in an attempt to pass themselves off as a genuine product of the brand owner. This policy applies to the content of your ad and your website or app.

    • Dangerous products or services–safety is a priority for us. We don't allow the promotion of some products or services that cause damage, harm, or injury. This can include, but is not limited to, recreational drugs (chemical or herbal); psychoactive substances; equipment to facilitate drug use; weapons, ammunition, explosive materials and fireworks; instructions for making explosives or other harmful products; or tobacco products.

    • Enabling dishonest behavior–transparency is one of our core values. Because of this, we don't allow the promotion of products or services that are designed to enable dishonest behavior. This can include, but is not limited to, hacking instructions or software; services designed to inflate ad traffic; fake documents; etc.

    • Inappropriate content–diversity and respect for others is important to us, so we don’t allow ads or destinations that display or promote hatred, intolerance, discrimination, or violence.

  • Prohibited practices

    • Abusing the ad network–ads in the ContextCue network must be relevant and safe for our users. We don’t allow advertisers to run ads, content, or destinations that attempt to trick or get around our ad review process.

    • Misrepresentation–ethical advertising isn't just about privacy. We also work to ensure our users don't feel mislead by our ads. Because of this, we don’t allow ads or destinations that intend to deceive users by excluding relevant information or giving misleading information about products, services, or businesses.
